The Westchester Children's Museum offers field trips aligned with Next Generation Science Standards, Common Core Math, and ELA learning standards. All Museum field trips, exhibits, and hands-on STEAM workshops are adaptable to honor and complement the ages and stages of child development from Preschool through 5th grade.

Helpful Booking Info

  • Field Trip Format: Our field trips take place while the Museum is open to the general public and are conducted in a semi-guided format. Each class (preschool to 5th grade) will have a dedicated Museum educator to lead all smaller chaperoned groups around the Museum floor.
  • Scheduling: Morning and afternoon sessions, lasting 90 minutes to 2 hours, are available. Most schools add one of our 30-minute STEAM workshops.
  • Capacity: The Museum can accommodate up to 6 daily classes for on-site field trips (approximately 120 students and 20 chaperones). If your group exceeds this capacity, we can arrange for multiple-day visits. If not all class spots are booked, multiple schools may book the same date, providing the total participant numbers remain below 120 students.
  • Lunches: We do not have a reserved space for Field Trip lunches.  Please plan accordingly and make other arrangements for lunch on your trip day.

Payment:

  • Online Payment: This is required during the booking process. If this presents a barrier to your school’s visit, you may send a payment via check by selecting the “Pay Later” option at checkout, represented by the mailbox icon on the far right.
  • Checks by Mail: Due a month before your visit. In the memo, include the invoice number.
  • Other: If your school only approves payment on or after the trip has occurred, please state this in response to the confirmation email you will receive, and we will send you a Letter of Agreement to sign.
